My 15 year old difficult child has the first half of an IEP meeting with the schoool tomorrow and we know they are going to try to push a 504 instead of an IEP. I am SO mad, he's had a 504 before and it was a joke. Now he's failing every class except PE (he's a freshman) and is testing at a 4th grade math level. The school seems to think he's just not trying.
We've been working with a psychologist for about 6 months going through every test known to man. She feels strongly that he needs an IEP and thank goodness she will be there with us.
Does anyone have any recomendations for how to handle these meetings and force them to help your kid?
