    Revoke consent for Special Education

I recommend that you not do that for the reasons copa stated. Any chance of transferring to another school within the district? Have you discussed filing a complaint(s) with your State Ed Agency and/or Us Dept of Ed and/or OCr?

Fran...where are you? Suz...where are you?

It saved mine, too, Ester. :) My difficult child is now 20. He graduated high school and is working. Treading water, but hanging in there. Ex and mine's separation and divorce put him in a tailspin he's still recovering from. I'm worn out and used up but starting to catch my breath and put me back...

Going home, soon. Know we should not kidnap daughter and bring her home, but....

I needed to highlight this for myself as a reminder..... Very hard to do when your child begs for your help "this one last time." And I know and he knows that it's not the "last time." His ridiculous decisions....what can I say? You all already know. Still working on myself in this...

I told her she has to move out by the end of month. I am heartsick.

I believe many of our kids don't give a flip about how their behavior impacts us. But sometimes they push, and push, and push and leave us no choice. Hugs

A Hard Day. There is such comfort in posting. I don't even have a question, really.

So sorry Barbara. Amazing how our kids take dead aim at self-sabotage going 100 miles per hour. And there's not a thing we can do about it.

    Another New Member

Welcome noname :) It is easy to look around and see someone worse off than we each are, but everybody seems to have their load -- not necessarily better or worse -- just a different load. I remember when difficult child was 8ish, taking him to Occupational Therapist (OT). There was a mom there with her son in a wheel chair...

I got the You child has missed too many days

It most likely is computer generated, but not sure I'd ignore it completely. Wouldn't hurt to write a letter acknowledging receipt and referring the 'author' to the counselor for "any explanation you need on this matter." Just in case -- might could save some hassle going to court.

    The $64K question

My little darlin does the same thing -- slow motion. Unless, of course, it's something he wants to do. Then he can kick it into high gear. Makes me crazy!!

ADHD symptoms persist for most young children despite treatment

Most, in my opinion. The way this is written, people may interpret it to mean that medication doesn't help at all. That's incorrect in my opinion. The medication helps in many cases, but it doesn't completely mask symptoms. That's my personal experience anyway -- medication is still not a "magic bullet."

Large study shows substance abuse rates higher in teenagers with ADHD

They can likely add they are natural risk-takers and often have little to no commen sense. It'd be interesting to know their opinions of what can be done.

    Having a hard time.

Disheartening to say the least. Scary to think our justice system is suppose to be the best in the world, isn't it? :(
