    Hi!

Hi everyone! Haven't been on - the regular "stuff" hit the fan and I had to thin out my activities to stay on top of the usual garbage from the demons! I just need to make sure that you all know that I've kept all of you in my thoughts, prayers and heart and miss so many of you...in truth, I...

Why is this happening to our family?

Welcome to the crowd! You've got some really good advice - my pediatrician was on the "he's just a little boy" when I kept asking...Buddy is right - the professionals can be wrong...go with your gut and do a full evaluation - and Janet could really be on to something with the food allergies -...

Sweet and Aggressive Three Year Old Son, breaking my heart

Welcome! it's not your fault! So many people sit and judge, yet they don't know everything that you're doing...the Occupational Therapist (OT) evaluation is a great step...the idea that sensory integration is an issue sounds pretty insightful at this time. There are a lot of things on the market that may help him "step...

Please help me figure out my 4 year old

Wow! Welcome to the crowd - you've gotten a lot of great input - I'm also on the sensory page...have you considered a weighted blanket or vest? It might help when you see him start to spiral toward a meltdown, head him over to the couch and let him just rest with it... Occupational Therapist (OT) might be just the...

PLEASE hear me out! my five year olds' behavior!!!

Hi! The guilt is tough enough - the fact that it didn't accomplish anything is a kick in the pants. I will caution you that it's illegal in most (if not all) to use a belt or anything else to spank...be careful as someone could report it and you'll then add the stress of an investigation. Occupational Therapist (OT)...

Behavior while shopping- A vent and suggestions welcomed!

Mine were a pain in the store for a long time...my oldest considered himself "Mr. Brilliant", so what I did was get one of those clipboards at the dollar store, wrote a "pseudo list" on the first couple of pages and gave him a washable marker. While I shopped, he'd walk along and "check mark"...

    Introducting Our Granddaughter

OMG! Gorgeous - simply gorgeous! Weeble is too old to be a playmate - but you've got to be busting out all over! Yay! God bless! Beth

    mother in law visit

One thing to consider here is that she was a "foreign object" to you this week. Think about it: She came there for the week - both of you knowing how you didn't get along too well. The two of you are basically left to your own devices - she's probably just as confused as you were. Perhaps...

The Weeble blew away the SEIT

For those of you who remember, I had the Weeble over 3 years ago...as time has marched on, she's required speech, Occupational Therapist (OT) and PT. The Dept. of Ed (after she aged out of Early Intervention) also gave her a Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) who comes to the house 3 days a week for a total of 5...

    Sorry to have disappeared :)

I know Terry...mine wanted me to throw a bbq on the last day of school to celebrate summer...I refused because of all the behavior issues. The first day of summer, I made burnt cheeseburgers on the grill and played REM's "It's The End of the World as We Know It"...lol!

    Folliculitis

If I didn't want to go, I'd look at this like a glorious opportunity rather than a curse...ahem "The PA said that I need to spend as much time lying on my stomach and to keep the area dry...therefore, I can't sit in the car and take a chance at the backs of my legs sweating AND I can't swim"...

    Sorry to have disappeared :)

She'll forever be "The Weeble" Janet - that's been her board name from the start! That's what everyone on facebook calls her too! She's definitely an old soul that's walked this earth before and is funny as all get out :) Lord, have I missed you guys :) Beth

15 year olds shouldn't have funerals

I'm sorry...it sort of makes you feel a little stronger because we may have our hurdles, but they're not quite as bad as this...sigh...that poor family and the kids asking "why?" with no answer. Beth

    Sorry to have disappeared :)

Thanks Ladies! Things will be a little nutty for a touch longer - but school will start (God willing!) and at least I'll have a couple of hours a day where fighting doesn't impede the thought process. Weeble stories galore, difficult child 1 is transitioning home...(Oh Dear Lord!), difficult child 2 - puberty...need I...

    Sorry to have disappeared :)

It's been nuts...but I think of you guys and wanted to stop in...I've been checking Early Childhood (and I was errant on that too for a while)...the insanity just wouldn't stop. Want to say "hi" and will be back in more often! Hope everyone's doing well! I missed you! Beth

    ahh need help!

Hi! I'm a train wreck myself in the scheduling continuum...try this link: http://childparenting.about.com/od/lifeathome/a/familyschedule.htm It'll start you off by identifying what you need to feel scheduled about. This one was great too...

I'm glad I found this site I need advice

Gotta agree with the rest of the crowd...I'd have a neuropsychologist take a look - once you get things going, you could go to the Board of Ed and see if you can get assistance with any type of services he may need (Special Education Itinerant Teacher, speech, Occupational Therapist (OT), PT, etc. It's well worth looking into! Beth

    Ok here goes

Hi! Welcome to the crowd - you'll get a lot of support here - check back often and ask questions - gut feeling and intuition when not ignored fuel most of your discovery. I think MWM hit the nail on the head. The sensory stuff is up there and Aspergers or High functioning autism could be...

Please, advice needed with little dude regarding giving medications!?

Just a thought...could they keep the equipment for the SI in another room? Perhaps the principals office and when it looks like he's gearing up for a problem, simply have him go to his "safe zone" and relax? I know how hard this is for you hun...been doing it for oh, so many years! But the...
