I have a child in his 30s now diagnosed ADHD and ODD as a child. He ended up in a boot camp as a teen and prison in his 20s. Though he made his life more challenging, he did get his life together--got his GED in prison, and went to college when he got out. He has a great job now, purchased his own home, and is thriving. When he made mistakes, I didn't try to shield him from the consequences. When he made effort to make better choices, I supported him. And I am always ready to provide guidance when the opportunity presents itself. As a parent, the only thing we can do is PRAY, love, teach, and encourage. It's a hard road at times, but it can pay off.
