UGH! Why didn't they have this figured out already???

Fly away!
I was cleared last week by my cardiologist for surgery to biopsy a salivary gland.

Yesterday, I called the ENT's office to schedule the surgery. They called back today. She can't schedule it because she needs to talk to the doctor about specifics (I guess they don't do these every day), and he's on vacation until next week. Why wasn't this discussed, or a note put in my file when I saw him and he told me I needed to have surgery???

I still have to have other pre-op work done and my GP doesn't want to schedule that until I have the surgery scheduled.

I saw a new neuro yesterday and he wants me to have all of these tests: 1) sleep study which will involve 2 days; 1 at night and 1 during the day for a nap, 2) another neuropsychologist evaluation to compare to the previous one, and 3) more EMG testing.

Plus, I have therapy for difficult child, difficult child 2 and myself and difficult child has speech therapy once a week. And I have physical therapy in there when I can fit it in. I'm overdue for a cleaning and I can't schedule that until I can schedule the other appointments because it's much harder to schedule with specialists and you often need to schedule your other stuff around when you can get in with the specialists.

I have all of these things coming up, nothing scheduled and I'm just sitting here spinning my wheels. It really shouldn't be this complicated.

Wow, that is daunting and overwhelming! I can have a pretty hectic schedule between myself, easy child, husband, difficult child and work but I think you top mine by far.

Medical appts are a pain in the hiney!

CM, I guess I shouldn't complain. I can't imagine doing this and working full time, too. Just working full time and juggling difficult child's appointments plus other random appointments was more than enough.

I'm just frustrated because I want to get this scheduled. I think the salivary gland biopsy might really show something and I'm anxious to find that out - so I can finally start some kind of treatment.

I also need to space things out somewhat because I physically cannot handle too many appointments in one week. It takes me down for days.

I am sorry. I know just how frazzled you feel. And how hard appts are on you.

Be prepared for the sleep test. I was hooked up to all sorts of wires on my head. Could only lay on my back because some strap wrapped around my chest to measure breathing. Couldn't breathe because the strap was too tight and they wouldn't loosen it.

The wires on your head are icky. Hard to get the glue off.

At least the new doctor wants to try to figure things out.

I am starting to run 2-3 appts a week for Jessie. ALL over an hour away.

Many hugs and I hope you feel better soon.

I hate all the doctor appointments. Trying to keep up with them is a pain in the rear end. I have now gone to a system where I say...Ok...I can do ortho appointments on Mondays, Dentists on Tuesdays, Regular docs on Wednesdays, Therapy on thursdays, specialists on Fridays. Now I have can double up on some things if needed because I make all normal appointments for afternoons. If something comes up I can make it for a morning. I hate mornings!

Here we go again!
Well gosh, Heather! Didn't you KNOW? Doctors ALWAYS take their vacations when you are going into labor or need to have surgery. And they play golf on the only day you can fit an appointment into YOUR schedule. And THAT is why they make the big bucks. Because they are so good at time management. THEIRS. Not yours.

You could always take up knitting while you wait!
