Good friends, just checking in to say I've had a good day today. My son evidently did come here last night. The provisions (clothes, blanket, money, etc.) I had left on the front porch last night were partially gone and an unknown coat was left in its place. I have not seen or heard from him all day today. I am good with that. I have had a good day, and we have been getting ready for my older son's birthday dinner. He wanted "Christmas dinner" all over again. He is a vegan but liked a lot all of the dishes that went with it, make-ahead mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, corn, rolls, veg. gravy, etc. We are doing a turkey for the meat-eaters! Also I made a three-layer birthday cake from scratch yesterday and we will have that with ice cream later. He and his fiancee are here with SO and myself. We are going to have a nice dinner. I hope my difficult child doesn't try to come tonight in the middle of the night or any other time. I really would like to talk by phone with him before he just shows up at the door. But as we all know, I don't get to choose what he decides to do. If he does come here I have a plan of what I will do. I am finding more and more that having a plan, writing the plan down, sharing it with friends (you all) and my SO and others, goes a long way to creating new behaviors. Thanks again. I'll keep you posted.
