Cedar, I am struggling with this. He is struggling at work. His learning disabilities are becoming apparent. He says he has trouble with multistep directions and needs to be shown, not just told. Poor memory and verbal comprenhension of directions, so he says. He said supervisor said she'd work with him as it seemed he wanted to learn. He writes stuff down, which is good. But he stands around a lot and is afraid to bother her in her office (not good). I tend to see him as a lost little boy, lately, because of his depression, his ADD, his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), his nonverbal learning disability. People with his disability get fired a lot...just ask Midwest Mom. I feel terrible when he has a meltdown. But I just listen to him, and try not to fix stuff, although I did regress. (I called Vocational Rehab for him, and got an appointment. Cancelled it because he got the job back the next day.) I accept him as what he is, but he doesn't accept himself. He says he feels so stupid at times. But he is trying hard...harder than I've ever seen him try. Still trying to get to that place where, if he is unhappy, I am still ok. It's so hard.
