Continued thanks. I often print out the responses to reread because they are so helpful. Tanya - love the two quotes. Leafy, everything you say resonates either with my own experience or what I believe to be true. This does feel like a fight for my own life. I am getting stronger, clearer, and less afraid. I have not totally detached, but I am working hard at therapy, twelve step, etc. I am determined. I feel ashamed when I do cave, but I am trying to forgive myself and to get back up and try again. Besides my DS I also have a difficult adult daughter who has gone dark and won't let me see my grandchildren. Twelve step says "hands off, heart on." I am a work in progress. I believe all of us on this site are loving parents.
