Should I be in trouble for this, what do you think should happen?

My difficult child is in foster care and she comes home on Friday thru Sunday. She takes adderall, and she said last week, I 've got to get some more adderal. Okay, so she tells her foster mom that she needs it and she calls difficult child's therapist and tells her she needs it. Okay, so that was on Monday. This...

    Welcome Jessi

I am sitting here listening to my seven year old son scream at the top of his lungs because I have had it and put him to bed early! His father has mental disorders that at 40 have remained untreated but I had no idea how much till I had his son. I have had to go to court over and over just to...

    I got the Intuniv covered!

And it didn't take as long as I thought. I guess I had requested this once before and they never responded, tho they had "ruled" on it...but the ins company is covering it. Its at the highest co-pay, but that's still better than $500 a month. Now I just feel like a dumbutt for dropping the...

    ER Visit Last Night

So last night, difficult child was jumping up the stairs (like a bunny rabbit -so says he) and landing on each one with his knees. He came down just right and managed to put a 1-2 inch gash in his knee with one of the nails that holds the carpet in place. Thankfully, his shots were up to date, and they...

    Needing Help!

I'm in need of some help for my almost 9yr old son. He has been diagnosed with ADD and is currently taking Adderall XR 20mg. However, it doesn't seem to be helping with the behavioral issues we are having. We are currently trying to set up a nueropsych evaluation. but not sure what that exactly means...

    We found a new psychiatrist!

I booked an appointment with-a local psychiatrist for difficult child, just to shake things up a bit and get a 2nd opinion. I'm sick of being on 2-mo waiting lists for 5 mo's and just booked with-someone in a practice where I had already met a cpl people. I can't tell if there's a mood disorder on top of the Asperger's...

    Focalin XR

difficult child's psychiatrist has started him on focalin XR. He was on Adderall and I hated that it made him really agitated and moody and he was grouchy. psychiatrist said that Focalin is made differently and is less likely to cause moodiness and agitation. difficult child 1 becoming more hostile

We've been having a lot of problems with difficult child 1's behavior the past few months. He provokes his sibs verbally and physically (name calling, poking, spitting, threatening to hit, etc.) and then when they react he gets violent. He is argumentative with both husband and I and gets confrontational and...

Who to go to for help with ADHD medication

My difficult child was diagnosed with ADHD about a year ago. After trying all the 'non' medication ways to help her, we tried Focalin XR in May. Side effects were horrible so after 1 month we stopped it altogether. She started Adderall XR in October and the only side effect has been weight loss. She went...

difficult child is funny when he describes things

He started Focalin XR 15 mg this past weekend. I had to switch him because Adderall just made him mean, moody, aggressive. He would be super emotional and agitated. I told his psychiatrist that Adderall was just not helping him and that we needed to change. He was hesitant to start him on an XR...

    The Rubber Room

Don't know about anyone else, but dealing with a child with conduct disorder is the most frustrating, disappointing, annoying, horrifying, exhausting, obnoxious thing on this planet. My son has been oppositional defiant for two years. Any little change in routine and it's 20 minutes of being...

Hi all, I'm new here and grateful for your support, insight, and help. Our middle son has struggled, intermittently, throughout life. He actually performs well, or has until this year. With the start of Middle School, he's making a spectacular nosedive that's heartwrenching to watch. He's...

    Awesome Telepsych Appointment

I have to say I had a wonderful appointment for the oldest for telepsych today (a bit early in the morning for me, I am so not a morning person). We've established a medication\ behavioral plan of action. I have to admit too, hearing a psychiatric from sick kids tell me I'm doing a great job was uplifting to...

Back on Intuniv - sick of the rages

So..... whenever difficult child rages and turns our household upside down - I go into crisis mode and want something to change immediately. After Tuesday night's rage, I faxed a letter to the psychiatrist saying I wanted to take difficult child off Concerta entirely and just try Intuniv alone. (Background: He just increased...
