difficult child is failing most of his classes and is in very real danger of failing 8th grade. He simply just doesn't do the work - both in school and out-of-school. He will do some on occassion; for example, 2 weeks ago I received a call from the prinicipal telling us how proud he was of difficult child for...

I am so tired. I am numb. My life feels like it has been flipped upside down and shaken all about... my body hurts - it feels like I have been in an auto accident. I feel trauma - all because we returned difficult child's video game rental and would not get him another one! WHAT?! Wait... yep, you...
The pediatrician hasn't called us back - I also have a call in to the psychiatrist!
difficult child has been having problems at school during recess everyday and has been super aggressive after school which then leads to him getting in physical fights with his friend. We are to the point where we will...
Well we finally saw a psychiatrist with difficult child the other day ( we've always seen psychologists or counselors) since we now feel things are so bad with him that we have to try the medication route. After her evaluation she diagnosed difficult child with a mood disorder with some signs of adhd (said he does not fit...
It was too good to last. In fact, over a week too long. The first three days were okay, but moving on up to 2 wks, boy, oh boy, what a cranky, mean boy!
Luckily, we had an appointment with-the psychiatrist yesterday, and he listened to the symptoms and the explanations (the drugs stores ran out, difficult child is always mad...
Ugh, I have no idea what to do anymore. difficult child has been taking 2 mgs of Inuniv for about two weeks now. His teacher says she has seen *some* improvement so far but he still needs to be redirected throughout the day. It's better than nothing. We didn't see any improvement at all at 1 mg so some...
Please let me know if I need to add anything to my siggy (within reason, I'm a bit nervous about this being open to the public). I'm a homeschooling mom and you can see my kids status in my siggy. We got the diagnosis around October so we're still learning, trying to deal with all this. We knew...
Hi! My son just got prescribed Intuniv for his ODD. He was diagnosed about 4 months ago and fits every single criteria. Every symptom of ODD he has. I was so glad to finally get a diagnosis. We tried for months with therapy but decided finally to go the medication route as he was not even...
First some quick background: difficult child is 7, speech delayed, ADHD, and has anxiety. Thats what he has been diagnosed with, we can also add to that depression (wants and tries to hurt himself), low self esteem, and is behind in most subjects. Kindergarten was rough for us, he threw chairs, hit kids...
Hello,
Well I guess I can say if I have found this site....I need help!! or to just feel common and know I am not the only one who has children who are a "little" okay a lot difficult at times :-) My middle child the child who is giving us the most extreme difficulties currently. We are having...
I am new to this site, and I am happy to make my first post! It is late, so I will get right to the point. We have anxiety/depression/Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) (and possible bipolar and ADHD) that run on both sides of our family. I myself have moderate depression/anxiety that isn't being managed very well at this...
Granted I don't really mean that I am going to but living with a child who is NEVER happy is exhausting. I posted this almost exactly a year ago:
He has gotten worse. He is never happy and he's usually crying and/or raging over something. He hits me, his siblings, punches walls, and he is...
This morning, at 9am, I gave Carson his second dose of Focalin (umm, expensive medicine). An hour and a half later he went BESERK.
He was banging his PSP3 controller into the wall--leaving a hole. Because he wasn't doing well at his game. He was screaming and then crying. Hard to console...
difficult child's latest psychiatric appointment was today. He saw a new person (a nurse practitioner). Although I did like some of what she said, some of it I found a little scary because she seems to be leaning more towards difficult child having a mood disorder rather than just ADHD and anxiety, as was diagnosed a...
I don't post a lot, but for all of us who walk this road, I needed to share some good news that only parents of difficult child's can really appreciate. I was almost in tears.
For those of you that don't know my story a brief background.
husband and I together 20 yrs, married 12. difficult child, male, 8, planned...
Quick background: Two kids, one age 10, gifted but a talker, and my difficult child, age 6... so far the diagnosis is ADHD and Anxiety not otherwise specified, but he also seems pretty delayed in many other areas... school, speech, etc. His main problems have been with aggression.
difficult child started taking Adderall last year and the...
My son takes Adderall for ADD and has for a couple of years now. Today we went to the doctor and they did an EKG and found an irregular heartbeat. They said it could be a side effect from the Adderall. Any one have any experience with this?? This is my baby and I am scared to death. We have an...

It's been a while since I've been here... the reason is that things were going so good! difficult child started first grade this year, and made it until just about a month ago with no major issues! No principals office or anything... And starting about a month ago, things changed... I'm not 100% sure why...
And it didn't take as long as I thought. I guess I had requested this once before and they never responded, tho they had "ruled" on it...but the ins company is covering it. Its at the highest co-pay, but that's still better than $500 a month.
Now I just feel like a dumbutt for dropping the...
Some may remember, I've posted a few threads about my niece. Mom has been trying to be consistent and firm with her but she fights her every step of the way. Calls her B word and tells her she can't tell her what to do. She has been communicating with her Bio-Mom which is against the no-contact...
