Residential looks necessary, IEP next week

UPDATE: school mental assessor is recommending a day treatment program, and told me if that doesn't work out, they'll recommend Residential Treatment Center (RTC). Psychiatrist said she'd Residential Treatment Center (RTC) on a "voluntary" basis only. Why only voluntary, does anyone know?? TIA

Most RTCs will only take a child who agrees to go.

You have to "sell" it to him. Make it a more attractive option to him than home.

They aren't set up for runners and an unwilling 17 year old will run.
