has anyone had experience with this drug? My difficult child is now taking it, with a dramatic turn for the better. She is so different. She is almost back to her normal self. Which was a great improvement from the very difficult weeks preceding the change in medications (that is why I haven't been around very...
Several months ago, after trying my 10 y.o. daughter (difficult child 1) on Prozac, it was a disaster. Her meltdowns, which were bad, got out of control at home and school. Took her off the Prozac and they didn't stop. Now after having her heavily medicated on Risperdal, Concerta and now Zoloft, she's...
difficult child heads back to school tomorrow. And, I should be excited. Instead I am filled with dread. The battle to get her up and out the door to school every.single.day begins again. I hate it. I am hoping that with the new year we will have a better track record. I am trying so hard to be...
I am angry with my son's insurance company, with his psychiatrist, his therapist and his caseworker. They don't seem to realize that I do have a brain and may know what is best for my child.
Okay....neither he or his brother are my biologically born children. They were born to my son and his...
He has been, basically manic, for over 3 weeks. It was heartbreaking to leavwye him there last night. I have a meeting this morning with his doctor and staff. They have a tenative discharge date of April 12. But the told Carson it would be more like 2 weeks. Hes over an hour from us but I will...
I really don't know what I think about this psychiatrist. She spoke a few more words this time other than, "Ahhhh. Ok.", but....just but.
She put difficult child on clonidine (sp?) 0.1mg to help with sleep. Said difficult child could take it with the 100mg trazodone because difficult child says the trazodone isn't working all that...
Have not had a chance to update here on what has been going on since I last posted. I did take my Daniel to the psychiatrist and I DID get his medications changed. He was kept on the Clonidine 0.1mg at night and the Depakote ER 500mg at night but what was added was Haldo 0.5mg and Lexapro 10mg. He...
Now, we've established that Zyprexa at bedtime doesn't work for kiddo, right? Right. Hyper, leg pains, etc. She's also eating like a lumberjack, even when she's full she's still hungry. Called doctor's office. They want to cut back the Zyprexa to the previous 5mg taken at bedtime and add Abilify in...
so, as I mentioned in my other post, M was taken off Tenex cold turkey last night...so, his last dose was yesterday morning, around 11 am (he took it late).
Now, he was put on the Tenex to help control some impulsivity and to keep him from "boiling over" during rages/meltdowns because the psychiatric hospital...
 I went to see Elijah again this afternoon. Hubby had to stay home because my ten year old did not feel well. She has a fever, sore throat, headache, etc. I also had a meeting with the nutritionist from there. Right when I got there they gave me a few minutes to visit with Elijah first...
Hi everyone. Ds4 had his appointment with his psychiatrist yesterday. He is currently taking Lexapro (10 mg) but he upped him to 20 mg (15 first). He is also on Risperdal (2 mg a day) We have seen very little if any change since he's started these medications. We ultimately want to get him off of...
Just curious if anyone out there has difficult child's on one of these medications, and if there are what symptoms did they help with? I need to think of something to help difficult child slow down, he is just getting more and more wound up.
It is exhausting trying to keep d from eating nonstop! Some if it is healthy, some not. But even eating too much of a good thing isn't. Could this eating (disorder?) be part of his anxiety? Is it Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) to eat like this?
He is such a beautiful child. This emerging weight problem greatly concerns...
I had a psychiatric visit for Elijah today. The psychiatrist asked me to come alone so we could quickly finish up his intake process and also because he had some things he wanted to discuss without Elijah there.
First off he was upset at the way the situation happened the other day with the...
Hi, remember me (the overnight change). We went for the second blood test for strep, and it was negative. I know the doctor is not up on PANDAS, and I still think he might have missed something. We have an appointment for a full physical next friday, and I am going to ask for a neuro workup...
Pass started out good. went to ranch and he rode really well. Got in car to go to my sister's and he fell sound asleep. so strange. When we got there she couldn't answer, something wrong with her phone. IT is a new place and no way to get to her and I tried email and text too...nothing...
Hello,
This is my first time posting on this forum. I was wondering if anybody has input about our situation.
In Sept. 2006, our difficult child, who was 13 at the time, had a temporal lobectomy to remove the seizure focus. The surgery appears to have been successful. Before then, he was already...
good morning:
bringing difficult child to meet new art/biofeedback therapist today if i can wake her. she was up again last night. it isnt' a dad transitional thing, that did make it worse because dad lays with-her. it's a "her" thing. She's been doing it for soo many mos. now i've forgotten. Our day's...
Is anyone's difficult child on something for anxiety???? Probably should have asked earlier as I'm leaving for psychiatrist in 30 minutes and he really needs to do something to get Tigger's anxiety under control.
