Honestly, I think we've done most of them. This is kind of a follow up to the ADHD thing. We did meet with psychiatrist on Friday, and she was gracious (as always) to go ahead with my thoughts on re-trying the Concerta (just one more time, even though we've tried it two or three times, I keep hoping...
In trying to figure out what is going on with my 10 year old difficult child (Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), ODD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), chronic tic disorder) I several times stumbled across info on Tourettes that seemed to describe her, except it usually mentioned ADD/ADHD, which she doesn't show any signs of. Last week the psychiatrist who we met...
difficult child's psychiatrist is wanting to try another d**n medication. psychiatrist absolutely believes that difficult child is bipolar and ADHD. Now I had a neuropsychologist done at an early age and it agreed with a mood disorder. Even though it was independent, I don't think it was as thorough and again he was young. He saw a pediatrician...
Actually, it is the generic (lorazepam) and psychiatrist had prescribed 0.5 mg tablets as needed but cautioned not to give it to difficult child often due to addictive nature. He said to start with one tablet and if it was too much then give 1/2. If it wasn't enough, give more but not to exceed 2 tablets in one...

Been a while since I've been on since it's been so hectic at home and work. I thought the best way to do this would be an update and then list my questions.
Overall, difficult child continues to do "OK"; basically he stays away from anything that will remotely cause him stress or make him...

so i have a question in regards to my difficult child who i can't figure out.

Not to be a thread jacker or nothing....but I am hopping on to Weeping Willow's thread...
Yes K is still manic... she is still not sleeping. psychiatrist called on Wed night and he said just stop the Geodon... we had titrated back down to 40 mg. He said just stop.
That night she was up again seeing...
we kicked the Geodon. Was stimulating (I'm laughing, because wouldn't that be typical of my son?).
Our choices are, very obviously, limited. The doctor, again (if you remember, he tried this once), suggested the Tegretol. There is an interaction warning with Lithium and Tegretol. After I reminded...
I feel like I cannot do this anymore....this life.... it seems I have been on the wrong end of karma for years.
My father was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer only 5 weeks ago. His hair is starting to fall out, he is talking about his last days, and the reality that he only has a short time...
Hi again. I've not been around in the last month. School is keeping me very busy and difficult child is sliding downhill as well. I was reminded yesterday that she's a 6-7year old in an 11 year old's body. So it could be that everyone might be asking more than she can handle??
We just had her IEP on...

We normally use the clonodine or tenex that *usually* knocks our difficult child out, but it doesn't always work.

My difficult child has taken Paxil since he was 10 years old. P. doctor #1 prescribed it for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and depression. He also took Clonidine. We tried to take him off of all medications. almost two years ago. But his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) returned and his mood was awful. He ended back on Paxil, eventually at an even higher dose but not...

I have a friend coming over next wk to splice the cord on the TV, so it can have a diff kind of plug that won't go into a wall socket, and then plug it into the remainder of the cord, which can go into a wall socket, so I can take 1/2 the cord to my office and lock...
