Hi all,
I've posted a bit in the past month about difficult child's latest mood cyclying...In the past 6 weeks, he has had two hypomanic periods and a lot of depression, with maybe two good days. We have switched from Trileptal to Depakote ER. Thus far, Depakote isn't working out so well. difficult child has been...
Well K was doing pretty good last week, her first week on Neurontin. She was slightly Labile, tired a bit... then this week she was a bit more labile, tired. She was nodding off in class, awake at night. Not manic or hypo-manic. She was racing a bit... sleeping in, in the morning. Her TD or...
We are having such trougble with my daughter not behaving and she is impossible to deal with.
Abilify has not worked at all. In fact it made her start being violent with classmates and I finally got it out of her system and the violence stopped. She is just totally moodly, irritable and...
Ok, difficult child went off Abilify about 6 weeks ago. Two weeks ago he told me how angry he has been feeling and was willing to try a new antidepressant or something if it did not cause weight gain. husband took him in and came home with Geodan...only it is spelled with on. He started taking it on Friday...
Kanga has a couple of fixed paranoid delusions. The therapist can't reach her because to Kanga these are very real. Are there any medication that helps treat impaired reality: delusions, hallucinations, etc??????
So difficult child is being cross tapered from Abilify to Seroquel. He is currently at 7.5mg Abilify (was at 15mg twice a day) and 200mg Seroquel. I spoke to him last night, and his irritability is way up. He says he is tired (he always says that even if he is crazy active, I think his body gets tired...
Sara nad Shari,
I would really apprecaite your insight on a situation we are having with my son and the possiblitty of clonidine being the cause. Anyone else with comments or info please feel free to respond as well. Thanks.
Sara,
In reading your replies to others and myself, I have...
Well, after the other night I told school, do NOT call me. Gave them husband's cell number, informed them he cannot answer, leave him a message and he will return the call. Please do not call me.
Alex does not listen to me and I am not dealing with him.
I KNOW husband will NOT tell me if school calls...
Ever since increasing difficult child's abilify to 4mg (yes a small dose) his appetite has doubled, even tripled. Now this is the kiddo that I had to force to eat dinner, and many times he would skip lunch. He would eat a sandwich only for dinner. But now, look out. He eats lunch, dinner and a bedtime...
Ehh, I dunno, I'm not liking this drug. We started it Sunday. Anyone have any experience with it?
The psychiatrist said when we start, at only 20 mg., it could stimulate Dylan. So, he said, if that happens, to increase the dose to 40 mg., that would calm him.
I didn't ask (and am kicking myself now)...
My son is going to see his psychiatrist again Thursday, his father is going to call me after the appointment. His dad said the therapist also suggest doing some kind of mood disorder medication. and I have searched online at a few different ones but mainly found them for adults.
Curious what your children are on...
difficult child had a short trial of Geodon many years ago, and I recall it didn't go well. Currently he's on Abilify, but eats a lot, however he is a growing boy at 13. Wondering if we should try Geodon again (to replace abilify) as I've heard it doesn't have the hunger effect. ANy thoughts positive or...
So now it's pretty obvious difficult child has cervical dystonia which goes to upper back/shoulders as well.
We stopped Geodon, and he's back on 15mg Abilify and 2 mg of Benztropin.
I think dystonia abated a bit after a week or two of this dose of Benztropin, but far from 0. Very correlated with him...
Any one with any thoughts....
Kens seizures (3) have followed rages or extreme anger.??? He states he has no memory or little memory. Today was " Mom, I just can't control me and I don't know why"
Seeing P-doctor tomorrow behavior is very atypical of him...strange.
Depakote= what have your difficult child's...
We had our first sibling visit in 10 months. It went very well. We played basketball and walked around the grounds of the Residential Treatment Center (RTC). Eeyore played basketball but then stayed behind when we went on our walk. The younger 3 seemed to have dealt with it as well as could be expected (Tigger had nightmares...
easy child/difficult child has been on Trileptal for 3 weeks now bc the psychiatrist suspects he has a mood disorder and not ADHD. Everyone around him can see a clear difference in his demeanor lately since he started this medication. He seems.....happy. And he isn't arguing back nearly as much as he was. The focus and...
difficult child didn't like that the teacher sent her to in-house for the day for being disrespectful, so she had showed everyone, a fraction of what I get at home. They couldn't believe it, 5 school administrators, social workers and teachers couldn't redirect her. She cursed and screamed and tapped her...
So the doctor didn't really know what this twitch thing is that difficult child has. It is not there at all when he is shirtless, except for sometimes turning his head sharply to the side. But if he has a shirt on he'll keep the collar pulled as hard as he can to one side (so that it doesn't slide against...
The new medication is geodan actually it is spelled with an o not an a, but last time I put the correct spelling of a drug when difficult child googled the drug it brought up my post.
Please let me know of your experience - good or bad. Took away the abilify and added this 20mgs at night for a week then 40.
I never read anything good about Geodon. Just wondering if anyone had success on this with their difficult children? My difficult child is 14, but we did a short trial of Geodon years ago, and he went a little biserk on it, so we stopped it. Just wondering if maybe we should try it again. difficult child was on Abilify and did...
