Went to Neuro - he seemed at a loss What am I missing here? We are now trying the 1/4 tablet of Clonidine (Dixatrit) at 8 am and then at 4 pm and continuing the Concerta. He did not know what Tenex was so I had to call him when we got home to give him the brand name (I guess it is different...
really really manic. psychiatrist got ktbug in on an emergency basis Wednesday morning & he took me aside to tell me he hadn't seen her this bad ever.
I've been trying to tell all the "powers that be" that kt is escalating ... spinning out of control for 3 weeks or more now. (I tell you ladies if I...
So now it's pretty obvious difficult child has cervical dystonia which goes to upper back/shoulders as well.
We stopped Geodon, and he's back on 15mg Abilify and 2 mg of Benztropin.
I think dystonia abated a bit after a week or two of this dose of Benztropin, but far from 0. Very correlated with him...
Well I must admit I really hoped I wouldn't have to come back here. AS much as I loved you all, I was happy to finally be able to move forward as life seemed to finally be getting better. WRONG. Let me first off say I'm sorry for such a long post, but I need to get this off my chest.
difficult child#1 is...
hi
does anyone know of a secondary medication that can be added to combat weight loss from any of the ap's that cause it?
so, if we use seroquel and that works well, yet weight gain is a huge issue is there another medication that can be added to combat that and the sugar levels?
I've been doing some...
Hi all,
I've posted a bit in the past month about difficult child's latest mood cyclying...In the past 6 weeks, he has had two hypomanic periods and a lot of depression, with maybe two good days. We have switched from Trileptal to Depakote ER. Thus far, Depakote isn't working out so well. difficult child has been...

Met today for the second time with the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
She still does not paint a pretty picture. Says the son has so much rage and anger, and is definitely ODD with depression. She said if things do not change for him, by the time he reaches adulthood there is no doubt he will end up in jail from...
Hi Y'all,
I finally was able to pick up the medical records and found out that my difficult child has bipolar and ODD. At this point, they're dragging their feet it seems and acting as if counseling alone will do the trick.
Not so! She had 8 days of just "Blehhhh", for lack of a better word, brattiness...
If anyone has experience with tegretol, I hope you'll provide your thoughts. difficult child has really done well- going on day 3 now. I know that's not a lot, but given where we were, I'm happy! :)
Re tegretol: His regular psychiatrist started him on this almost 3 weeks ago. He started on 100mg then was...
I was going to post last night how proud I was of our difficult child. We had a rough weekend regarding her failing grades and the schoolwork that needed to be completed. We removed most of her privileges until the work was done...cell phone, internet, hanging out with friends. Anyhow, she turned in a...
Okay, technically, it was for difficult child 2 since difficult child 1 had been pulled in last week because of his escalating beligerence at home, so he really didn't need to be there again so soon.
And just when I thought difficult child 2 would be safe to take to the appointment since his fever was normal all morning and at...
psychiatrist is going to write a letter so I'll have that to go along with the letter from therapist. Hopefully, psychiatrist will just keep diagnosis to BiPolar (BP) and adjustment disorder- we discussed it- I think he understood why it's important- mainly because that's the diagnosis he gave him that I went to court with last year and because...
For Tegretol to take effect? I get it, I get it!
Although difficult child 2 was very tired this morning, and he reported that he literally fell asleep in class before the morning recess, this evening he is BOUNCING off the walls. He said he's tired, but his mind is racing.
Great.
He also got two or...
Well we just got back from Abby's dr appointment. He was not all that impressed that they let her out of the hospital acting like she is. He added another medication Trileptal 300mg in the evening for 1 week and then add another tablet so she will be on a total of 600mg. He say's with the way...
I'm very new to this whole world and I would love some advice from some seasoned parents. I know this is incredibly long and wordy, but I would love and take anyone's advice on how to deal with my situation.
Here is my difficult child's background: My middle son, T, is 6 years old and currently staying in...
I just wanted to give a big Thank you to everyone that responded to my post "I think we are in crisis". I felt so defeated and hopeless that day that I really needed support from parents that understand everything we are going through. husband also wants to start getting on here with me to read more...
Hello, I haven't updated for awhile, it has been too exhausting to summarize what has been happening. difficult child has had an up and down summer, some successes but mostly very difficult - it always is in the summer. He had a really rough start at Grade 1, new school and despite the warnings the teacher...
Hey everyone! My SO is on her way home with difficult child as I type. This was his second hospital stay in about a month. I am hoping for the best and of course fearing the worst. (but not letting that fear squash the hope :winking:) We had a meeting today with a "family navigator" that we got in...
