I know the holidays are sometimes tough to get thru...whether our loved ones are with us, or we wonder where they are. I hope we can find some moments of peace and happiness today. Even if that happens when everyone leaves, and dinner is cleaned up.

Your gathering may not look like a Norman Rockwell painting of a happy family, but we are part of an extended family on this site. And wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving...no matter what it looks like.

The police came here looking for my son. They said the FBI had notified him due to a suspicious posting on Facebook by my son where he wrote that he has been followed by gang members and the police might be involved. Oh my Lord. They're coming back at 2 pm when my son is due to arrive. They know my son is mentally ill, and they were kind. But I am afraid. I know they're going to profile my son and have this on record, to consider him a potential suspect if something might happen along the way.

Hi. Thank you so much, to each of you. My son is so calm he went to another Thanksgiving get-together at some friends. and called M to say he was spending the night there. He thinks the police and FBI are HELPING him. So, he's not taking this so seriously. (!!) I don't know how we survive our lives.

Thanks for the update Copa. I hope you all were able to have a little bit of peace with him not coming back for the night. Keeping you in my prayers. I don't see how you deal with this. Addiction is one thing but mental health is an entirely different ballgame to me. One day at a time is all I can do myself. I start to spiral if I get to far ahead today. Just know God wouldn't put this on you if he didn't think you could handle it. I often wonder just how strong does he want us to be? I feel plenty strong enough by now. LOL!
