Pregnant Meth addicted daughter

I recently learned that my 35 year old meth addicted daughter is about 8 months pregnant. My husband and I are raising our grandson since birth, he's 2 1/2 now. For many reasons that I won't go into, or try to justify, we won't be taking this new child. This has been a gut wrenching decision and has had me on an emotional roller coaster for the past month. What kills me is that she won't feel any kind of guilt, sadness, remorse or worry about her own child's well-being or future., but I am feeling all of those things. She's about a 3 1/2 hour drive away from us, in another state. I'm debating whether or not to go to see the baby when it's born, and will I want to see her. I started talk therapy, and my therapist wants to use EDMR therapy too. I'm working hard not to let this situation drag me down into a deep depression.

Hi Midst. This sounds so very, very hard. I don't know if I could do it. What are you hoping seeing the baby will bring?
I'm thinking closure maybe. I want to talk to the DHR person about possibly keeping informed from them/foster parents on how he or she is doing and if it's adopted quickly. I think i would regret not seeing and holding my grandchild before it's gone forever to me.

what a difficult road you are on. My heart goes out to you and your family. Sending you hugs, strength and courage. There is only so much that you can give. There are many families wanting to give But can’t have children. Trust the universe that the new little one will land in those loving arms.
