Approximately half of us have seem to have a gene that when asparagus is digested, there is a chemical bi-product that makes our urine smell foul, kind of like rotten eggs. Not everybody smells this. Science is divided between those that argue that some people do not have the gene, or some people are unable to smell the change quite possibly for psychological reasons.
