I think I agree with Trinity on this, too. It was important for me to make sure difficult child understands that he can't expect his wife to do what he sees in porn. Plus, you never know how much fantasy is developing that will last and effect a relationship someday. It might be that they grow out of it, as Janet relayed about Cory. But I don't think they necessarily do. in my humble opinion, it's prudent to try to keep them away from internet porn. Back in the day where the biggest worry was Playboy- well, at least those were photos of a normal woman's body and that's about it, other than the poses being erotic. I found some things that my son found on the internet and he'll never see a body like that or doing some of those things- half men/half women, sex with anything,etc.

WE really have gone down hill since PONG.

You know Dude went through this stage, and OMG it was AWFUL. Mostly because his taste in women was to me very odd. But then again during that time the kids he was trying to make friends with were into the same thing and for them it fit - but it just was, to me very odd.

So there I am trying to tell the police officer that Dude had ran away and was probably at his friends home down the road. How there was no supervision at THEIR home, that the Mother didn't even live at the home, but had her elderly Mother watching five children while she shacked up with her boyfriend of the month. How "THOSE" kids had no rules or consequences and were wild...

THen I tried to google an address for the cop? And as he's standing there next to me - the rear end of a HUGE, unclothed, African-American woman was plastered ALL over my screen with the words - BROWN SUGAR....blinking in sequence with her nodding head...

YEahhhhh I wont forget that lesson for a LONG time about THOSE kids who had NO supervision on their computer....UGH.

I think looking at it out of curiosity or every once in a while at that age is not out of the range of normal, even though we may not like for them to be viewing porn at that age.

However, it sounds like it's becoming more of an obsession with difficult child 1. That requires a different strategy. Locking things down, so to speak, is good, but will only go so far. Unless you keep him in a bubble, he will find ways to get to it. I would address this in therapy. Not so much the inappropriateness because of his age, but because of the obsession. As you know, Gcvmom, obsessions of any kind severely interfere with interpersonal relationships.

Some of the other games like PSP have internet access too. Missy was telling me that some kid at school was watching a rate R movie and showed her. I will be having a talk with the teacher in charge of that class....let me tell you.

As Heather suggested, I think we'll be starting up therapist visits again soon for difficult child 1 and hopefully this is an issue that can be addressed during that time. The neuropsychologist said she was going to recommend therapy for difficult child 1 and was going to give me some names of people she thought would be a good match. She knows the therapist he went to last year, and I'd be o.k. going back to him. difficult child 1 wasn't so keen on him, but maybe that's because he confronted difficult child 1 about the lying and stealing issues he was having

A few years back, 60 minutes or some show like that did an interview with some porn stars. Some talked about how bad they were treated. Others talked about being wives, mothers, and sisters and how it impacted those roles.
