We just got off the phone with the rehab place, they are still fighting with the insurance company to keep difficult child 2 there longer....
They let us know one of the reasons they need to keep her there longer is because difficult child 2 is cutting and/or marking herself any way she can.
Why is the insurance...
I am new at this so please be patient.

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with my 14 yr old difficult child who is self destructing? He is CD, we have been in juvi court every week for the last 6 weeks, he just keeps adding to it. He became a ward of the state last week. None of this has any effect on his choices: stealing the car...
I have only read a few posts here, but the minute I started reading I felt like I belonged and got tears in my eyes.
BG: I have one son, who just turned 18. He's had behavioral issues since he was in preschool (4 hour tantrums), and spent a lot of time in legal trouble. At various times, he's...
Hello all. I feel like I have known the regular members here on the forum for along time, because I have been reading this forum for about a year. You guys have given me so much comfort over the year.
I felt like it was time to start posting my story to get some feedback from moms and dads...
Good Afternoon Everyone!
I was wondering if anyone has had the experience of getting conservatorship or guardianship over an 18yr old to be able to have a say in their mental health. I currently have joint custody with his dad, and my son is NOT emancipated (we live in NJ). His dad is out of...

I am the mother of a 16 year old son. I honestly don't know where to start, if this journey will end well, and each day it is a chore to find the will to smile, to just be and to not curl up somewhere and sleep. I have a small farm with horses, chickens, elderly dogs and a house mouse, thank...

I don't know where to turn. My easy child has turned into my difficult child 2. Her older brother (difficult child 1) has ADHD and has always been my challenge. I thought once he graduated from high school it would be smooth sailing with my daughter. I WAS WRONG!!!
Recently we have discovered that she has smoke marijuana...
My son is driving me crazy! He is about to fail 10th grade for the second time and says he has given up. He goes to school but does no work. At one point the counselor and teachers set it up so we paid for after school classes that would have him caught up to graduate on time...he was excited...
Hi All,
I am new here and struggling with my 16 year old son. He has become a behavior problem and I don't know what to do.
I feel like my son is always in trouble, either at home, in school or with the police. He does stupid things that he thinks are funny or no big deal or without thinking...
My 13 year old difficult child had a sleepover in a tent this past Friday night. I allowed it because he earned it with good behavior the week leading up to it. One of the boys brought a tent over. In the middle of the night, my son and 2 other boys came in the house, saying they got in a fight with the...
I was informed last night by a group of moms that our new high school, which has only been open a year and has freshman, sophomores and now juniors this year, has an ongoing problem with heroin and meth use among students. :faint: Apparently this is what happens when you combine affluence with...
I just found this site while Googling for more information re my son, 15. I'm familiar with groups/boards but not this one yet!
Here's the story:
About 2 months ago my 15yo son told us his grades weren't going to be very good and he voluntarily quit his job (knowing we'd probably make him)...
difficult child is currently incarcerated but due to be relaeased in about 7-8 weeks. He has not gotten into drugs but has a history of several serious illegal activities and has admitted "trying to do huffing" but says he couldn't figure out how to do it right- I do believe that somewhat.
He has said...
What do you got? I need ideas! I need help! I need suggestions, tips, whatever.
Gfg15 stole yet again this week from someone at school. My kid needs help! And I do NOT know how to help her! It hurts so very bad to watch her keep making these poor choices.
PMIC staff have told the school to...
Hi everyone. You guys are my last resort. I don't know what to do anymore.
Here is my problem...
My boy was a stellar, polite, loving, caring boy with a great attitude, lots of friends and great grades. Teachers loved him. Everyone did. That was just before he turned 15. Things are a bit...
that my son told the truth about the nights out all night (well, enough of the truth that I could put 2 and 2 together) and the drugs and so forth, and that this whole thing really hasn't been a charade to cover a blooming situation of having sex with an 18yo confused young girl/lady in our...
What a tangled web we weave, when we practice to deceive....it does get complicated at times now doesn't it.
It's like this....I was rearranging my son's bedroom for him last week when I found his pot pipe and a bag of weed. He's 14 by the way...has ADHD..on concerta and lamyctal...anyway..I...
