Wow, both your son and your daughter are starting to figure out things for themselves, without your help!
This is great for you, and great for them!
Your daughter must be well-liked at her job, for her co-workers to help her out the way they did. Many of them probably live on a small budget, and it might have been a stretch for them to contribute, but they did anyway. She must be trying to be a good employee and co-worker.
It won't be a smooth ride, of course, but things are looking better than they did when you first came to this site.
They are doing for themselves because you have stepped back your involvement.
